What is Adipotide?
Adipotide (CKGGRAKDC-GG-D(KLAKLAK)₂ — proapoptotic adipose-targeting peptide) is a Chimeric peptide (targeting + proapoptotic domains). Bimodal chimeric peptide: CKGGRAKDC domain selectively homes to white adipose tissue vasculature; D(KLAKLAK)₂ proapoptotic domain disrupts mitochondrial membranes in targeted cells. Induces apoptosis specifically in WAT endothelial cells → secondary adipocyte death. Obese primate studies: rapid and specific WAT reduction.
